This project is an evolution of a project that began in Year 3 as a search for high quality educational resources on Native American history and culture. In Year 4, NCCC assisted WDE in the ongoing facilitation of a listening session planning committee made up of external stakeholders comprised of educators and tribal members. Based upon the decisions of this planning committee, in Year 5, NCCC will facilitate four listening sessions regarding K‐12 Native American education on the Wind River Reservation.
In Year 5, NCCC will continue to support the WDE with the implementation of the Wyoming Educator Equity Plan by developing resources facilitating meetings, sharing resources from other Centers, and sharing information compiled from other states related to recruitment, retention, and aspiring educators. NCCC will also ensure that the work of the internal
committee is aligned with and included in the state ESSA plan and upport the WDE State Equity Plan internal team as they review data to assess equity gaps.
In Year 5, NCCC will support WDE in developing their state ESSA plan for submission to the Office of School Support. In collaboration with Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and AdvancED, NCCC will provide resources and supports to WDE staff as they finalize their state ESSA plan. NCCC will also assist the WDE with developing and implementing protocols and tools to monitor the implementation of their state ESSA plan.
In Year 5, NCCC will continue to support the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) with the implementation of its State Digital Learning Plan (SDLP). To support the internal team and advisory panel, NCCC will develop resources, facilitate meetings, provide tools and resources for project management, and assist with creating or adapting tools and materials to support implementation of the plan.
