Regional Title III Network: Developing Regional Academic Language Cohorts

 
Problem Statement: Title III Directors identified a need to develop state capacity to support K-12 educators working with English language learner (ELL) students, since this is a growing segment of the student population which many K-12 educators are not trained to support. Title III Directors also identified a need for a structure to access educators with ELL expertise to assist with state-level ELL policy and procedures.
 
Purpose: NCCC will support WDE with continuing to finalize their state plan by September 2017 by engaging educational stakeholders from across Wyoming including tribal representatives; providing resources on tribal consultation and stakeholder engagement; generate
 
Priority Area: Rural Education
 
Expected Outcomes:
1. Cohort members have resources to support PD for teachers of ELLs.
2. Title III Directors and cohort participants in SD and NE have increased knowledge of academic language strategies.
