South Dakota Teacher Quality and Certification System Support

Problem Statement: South Dakota recognized that their current teacher certification system was inconsistent and inefficient and is working to develop and implement a teacher certification system that consistently ensures that all South Dakota students have access to high quality teachers.
Purpose: In Year 5, NCCC will support SD DOE in in dissemination of the new teacher certification requirements. This will include facilitating external stakeholder meetings.
Priority Area: Rural Education
Expected Outcomes:
1. SD DOE has an improved teacher certification system that aligns with the organizational goal of all SD teachers meeting high quality certification requirements.
